Recording and Security
Device Policy.
At Marvellous Babysitting, we take the safety and privacy of our families and nannies seriously. This policy outlines the rules for using security or recording devices during bookings, to ensure both parties are fully aware of their rights and responsibilities.
1. Recording Devices in the Home:
-
Purpose: If a recording device (e.g., CCTV, cameras, or audio devices) is being used in the home during a booking, it will be for the safety and security of children, the nanny, and the property.
-
Notification: Parents are required to inform the nanny in advance if any recording devices will be in use. This notification should include the type of device and its purpose. This can be added via the app’s Need to Know info under “Additional Info” or by letting the nanny know directly.
2. Consent:
-
Right to Opt-Out: If a nanny does not wish to be recorded, they must discuss this directly with the family. If a solution cannot be reached, the nanny should contact a member of the Marvellous team for support.
3. Nanny’s Responsibilities:
-
No Tampering: Nannies are prohibited from unplugging, removing, or tampering with any recording devices in the home.
-
Raise Concerns: If a nanny feels uncomfortable with the presence of recording devices, or if any issues arise, they should speak directly with the family or contact Marvellous Babysitting for assistance.
4. Data Privacy and Protection:
-
Secure Data Storage: Any recordings made will be stored securely and used only for the purposes stated above (e.g. home security). Access to recordings will be limited to those who need it, and recordings will not be kept longer than necessary.
-
GDPR Compliance: All recordings are subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
5. Usage of Recordings:
-
Transparency: Parents must inform nannies of the recording devices' placement and use. The nanny should be fully aware of which areas are being recorded.
-
Restricted Areas: No recording devices should be placed in private areas such as bathrooms or bedrooms, where privacy is expected.
6. What to Do if You Do Not Wish to Be Recorded:
-
If a nanny does not want to be recorded, they must discuss with the family. If an agreement cannot be reached, Marvellous Babysitting is available to assist with any concerns.
7. Final Note:
This policy ensures the safety and privacy of all involved. Both parents and nannies are expected to comply with the guidelines set out above to create a respectful and secure environment during bookings.
By accepting a booking, both the parent and the nanny agree to adhere to this policy.
For any questions or further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact the Marvellous Babysitting team.
